Provides high quality pre-hospital and/or within the hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by the EMS Medical Director within scope of practice of the approved EMS System Plan by Illinois Department of Public Health; assesses the nature and extent of illness and injury to establish and prioritize care needed for safe transport of the critical patient to the appropriate facility working in collaboration with the transporting and receiving hospitals or aeronautical flight team; is qualified to provide care for patients across the life-span in assigned clinical area; responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of Paramedic Services of Illinois assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patient care continuum.
ADDITIONAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with vehicle and equipment maintenance, station maintenance, public education, public relations, public health safety programs, emergency medical service training, critical care training, rescue, extrication, demonstrations, instructing and any other activity that would benefit the Company, its contracting communities, or the general public.
